SPRING 2018 LOOKBOOK
The Spring 2018 Collection entitled, “Bungalow 79”, designed by founder, Jonathan Goldberg, draws inspiration from the classic beach towns of the past. All production remains based in New York City as it allows a “hands on” approach from start to finish. The ongoing goal throughout the design process has been to create essentials packed for a season near the ocean. Ideas for what one would wear before hitting the water, after exiting, later in the day, and into the evening have all been imagined with a consistent relaxed, “lived in” aesthetic. These thoughts have been applied to treatments of materials, proportions of garments, and function as they come together to provide a unique silhouette. Elements of late 70’s style essentials are paid homage in select pieces from the collection. Bottoms are inspired by a fusion of nostalgic high-waisted trousers and vintage striped track pants. Nautical vibes can be seen in the varieties of mesh—solid and striped, both large and small—utilized for transparent anoraks, fireman coats, reversible pullovers, and bottoms. Seersucker, a classic summer staple, has been reinterpreted in a slightly wider stripe, quilted, and is included as both a poncho and as a pair of track-inspired trousers. Terrycloth, channeling the cozy beach towels and robes from generations past, has been revisited to create a belted, oversized cardigan, a poncho, and a pair of jogger pants. Denim, selected in nostalgic blues, is softened, faded, and utilized for the purposes of a relaxed boiler suit, duel layered trench coat, and track-inspired trousers. A paneled suede bomber was created to reflect the multiple hues of denim seen on select garments from the collection. Trench coats are offered in a combination of two separate pieces presented in a shorter/longer format for the purposes of creating dimension in length and contrasting textiles. The individual layers of this style provide the option of being worn together or separately depending on preference. Shirting is offered in bold patterns and prints reminiscent of classic loungewear. The entire collection has been put together to offer a variety of unique essentials that can be reinterpreted as time goes on to consistently bring something new to each individual’s personal style.
